Gordon has been a workhorse for the Chargers when he is on the field, but there have been injury concerns around the stat running back since he’s been in the league. Gordon has played all 16 games only one time in his four years in the league, but has shown that he can be a major contributor when he is healthy.

In Gordon’s only healthy season, he managed to rack up 1,581 total yards to go along with 12 total touchdowns. He also caught 58 balls that season, which shows his versatility in the offense. The Chargers have a couple capable backups for Gordon, but nobody that will substantially diminish his fantasy value in my eyes. Gordon is about as safe as they come when he plays, and he will be a top-10 back for you guaranteed.

Melvin Gordon has a current ADP of 1.06 according to Fantasy Football Calculator. He’s being drafted as the fifth RB off the board and ahead of Todd Gurley, DeAndre Hopkins, and David Johnson. In a PPR league, I may take Hopkins over Gordon, but I could see him being a fantasy stud in 2019. Draft him in confidence that he’ll pay off.

2019 Stat Prediction: 290/1,267/9 rushing and 49/412/3 receiving
