Josh Jacobs is an Alabama product that has proven he is a 3-down back throughout his final season of college. His combination of running and receiving ability, along with his quickness and power make him a very dangerous and capable running back.

With Marshawn Lynch out of town, and his only competition being Jalen Richard and Isaiah Crowell, Jacobs should see a decent amount of action as a rookie. I could see him increasing usage as the season goes on and as Gruden gains trust in the rookie. He has a plethora of abilities and his pass-catching ability gives him versatility that is a great trait in any offense.

Over his years in the NCAA, Jacobs averaged 5.9 YPC in Bama’s offense. With the Raiders adding more offensive weapons including Antonio Brown, defenses won’t be able to key in on one part of the offensive attack. I think Jacobs could potentially be a RB2 by the end of the year.

Jacobs is in a decent position to show his arsenal. He is towards the top of my list of rookies to target this season. I think if you invest a later pick on the rookie, he’ll perform handsomely.
