Pick: Virginia Tech (+5.5) vs. Virginia

Reasoning: If you are a fan of Big Monday rivalry basketball, this is the game for you. Two top 25 ranked teams from the same state will duke it out in this ACC matchup. The Virginia Tech Hokies are (12-1) at home this season and provide an incredible home court advantage with a rocking Cassell Coliseum. I expect the Hokies to ride the hot hand of Kerry Blackshear Jr. and make the plays down the stretch to at least cover in this game. While the Virginia Cavaliers are coming off a brutal week of ACC play, having to play UNC and Duke, I anticipate we could see a worn down Virginia team that struggles to shoot the basketball. In the end, expect the Hokies to keep it close and cover (+5.5) on their home floor.

Pick: Kansas State (-6) @ West Virginia

Reasoning: In all of college basketball, it may be hard to find a team struggling worse than West Virginia. With star player Sagaba Konate sidelined with an injury and two players just recently being kicked off of the team for violating team policy, the Mountaineers aren’t exactly trending in the right direction. On the other hand, it’s Kansas State, who is atop of the BIG12, and desperately needs a win as Kansas and other conference foes are closing in. Although the Wildcats may be without PF Dean Wade, I think they still by far have the superior team. Kansas State will get the job done on the road tonight against one of the worst Bob Huggins teams in West Virginia history. Expect Barry Brown to continue his tear in a double digit Wildcat win.
