Pick: Temple (ML) vs UCONN
Reasoning: I like the Owls to get the job done in this one. In Joe Lunardi’s most recent bracketology, he has Temple as a “first four out” team this March. Fran Dunphy’s squad will be playing with an extreme level of desperation as the year moves along to try and increase their chances at an at-large bid. Tonight, Temple plays host to a young UCONN team. Last year, UCONN lost by a devasting 28 points @ Temple. This UCONN team has failed to win on the road so far this season. Expect that trend to continue as the Huskies will have to handle extremely good guard play from the Owls. Anticipate Shizz Alston Jr. and Quinton Rose to score in bunches and out duel the Huskies in a high scoring affair.
Pick: Pelicans @ Bulls (-1)
Reasoning: There is one simple reason that I believe the Bulls are a must pick during tonight’s NBA action. This being due to the absolute mess that the Pelicans are right now, amid the trade rumors surrounding Anthony Davis. Expect, the composed and less distracted Bulls to pull out a close win. Although the Bulls have dropped five of their last six, I think this is a great opportunity for Chicago to get back on track. Especially if Nikola Mirotic has to sit, with a calf injury. He is currently listed as questionable.
