Just like that, the 2018-2019 NFL season is in the books. Whether you were rooting for the Los Angeles Rams or hoping it was going to be a high scoring game, Super Bowl 53 will be remembered regardless. The iconic tandem of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick once again got the job done and now have 6 Super Bowls on their respected resumes. With that being said, I have a couple of tidbits and notes I wanted to address. Let’s dive into it!

Let’s start out how “counted out” the New England Patriots really were this season. After a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2018 Super Bowl, many believed the Patriots era was over. Then once the 2018 offseason took place, many were writing the Patriots off from being contenders the following season. They went on to lose core players like Nate Solder, Malcolm Butler, Dion Lewis, and Danny Amendola in free agency, they traded Brandin Cooks to the Rams, dealt with suspensions to fellow WR’s Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon (Yes, he got a ring for those wondering). We learned that once again, We can’t count out the Patriots for as long as Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are working together.

I wanted to separately congratulate Julian Edelman on winning the Super Bowl MVP award. Even though I was rooting for stud rookie RB Sony Michel to take home the honors, I’d be lying if I didn’t say that Edelman didn’t deserve it. With Edelman recording 10 catches, for 141 receiving yards, the Los Angeles Rams had zero chances of stopping him throughout the whole game. He is always on another level come playoff time.

Hopefully, you were entertained by the not so funny commercials because this was the lowest final score in Super Bowl history! with a final score of 13-3, it left people saying “I stayed up for this?”. A crazy tidbit worth mentioning that this is also the first game in Super Bowl history to be without a single TD in the first 3 quarters.

Next up, I 100% agree that Sean McVay got out coached by Bill Belichick, I even predicted that in my Super Bowl Predictions article. In my opinion that was expected, but the people that are now saying Mcvay is a bust, flop, overrated, need to stop right now. Mcvay in 2 years as the Los Angeles Rams head coach, developed an elite offense, accumulated an impressive 26-10 record, and already has 4 playoff games and 1 Super Bowl appearance in just 2 seasons.

Play of the game: Now while most people will say Sony Michel’s TD or one of Stephen Gostkowski’s clutch kicks or even one of Julian Edelman’s many catches were the play of the game, the play I selected was the momentum changer in my opinion. The play where Jared Goff had a WIDE-OPEN Brandin Cooks in the endzone, and offseason free agent signing Jason McCourty traveled 20+ yards and broke up what would have been a TD for the Rams. Even Patriots HC Bill Belichick mentioned it post game and I quote “Oh my God, McCourty came out of nowhere and made that play” If you get praise from Bill, you did something right.

Lastly, for all of you complaining about the Super Bowl performance hosted by Maroon 5, I want you to know that they donated their entire Super Bowl 53 check to children’s charity. That’s reportedly $500k going to a great cause and we have some people complaining that sweet “victory” wasn’t played. Now for those complaining about Travis Scott and Big Boi, SAME.

With it being 214 days until the next NFL regular season game, it’s going to feel like a long offseason, but with the free agency and NFL draft coming up, make sure you stay with us and see daily articles and coverage.
